The present building was an inn in the early 19th century, called Paul Pry, getting the name from the main character of a farcical comedy by John Poole that opened in London in 1825. There have, however, been buildings on the site since the 13th century. As a result, the house has a medieval stonewall in the dining room and beams of the earlier 17th century timber-framed house in the sitting room, bedroom and its en-suite shower room.
The house is a 3-storey building with most rooms having fine restored cast-iron fireplaces. On the ground floor is the entrance hall, separate sitting room, dining room with quarry tiled floor and kitchen.
| The kitchen contains oak units and has ample working space. A door from the kitchen leads to the pretty, private, walled, rear garden with flowerbeds shrubs, trees and garden chairs. There are two paved areas where you can sit and enjoy the warmth of the summer days and evenings as you wait for the barbecue to cook. The first paved area is close to the house and has steps leading down to the gravelled pathway and to the other paved area and flowerbeds. As darkness falls, the garden lighting enables you to continue to make the most of living al fresco. There is a small pond for the benefit of the resident frogs.
Stairs from the entrance hall lead to the L shaped landing on the second floor. On this floor are the double bedroom with en-suite shower room and the large family bathroom, with shower over the bath. A flight of stairs takes you to the third floor landing where there are two bedrooms, a double bedroom and a single bedroom.
